I made it through the first training cycle without any injuries. For 3 weeks I slowly increased my weekly mileage from 54 to 61 and 72. The back to back 20 milers on Saturday and Sunday of the 3rd week were humbling. I am glad I was able to get the miles in.
The goal is to be consistent with the training cycles and make it to the starting line on 7/21/2012.
As a reward for the hard effort I get a chance to recover in the 4th week. The plan is to dial the mileage back down to 50 by taking Monday off and running 24 miles from Tuesday to Friday, 16 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday.

There are 5 more weeks until the DC Rock & Roll Marathon. I can’t help but feel a little excited. Game on!
